Vista will be upon us shortly

Useful Software

As Vista reaches its Release to Manufacturing build (6000.16386.061101-2205 it seems). So the last remaining bugs have been squashed 2 days before Microsoft's goal of the 8th of November; although, one must remember Vista's RTM version was originally planned for the 25th of October.

So with that good news it seems Vista will meet it's November shipping date for businesses. With the retail copy appearing in late January there will be some more time for essential fixes that may be found by business users.

It looks like the time of Vista's reckoning is approaching faster than ever. After all, the business copies with obviously find their way on to torrent sites, with a readily supplied CD-Key.

So will Vista be the new Windows ME? I do not think so. Even though I do not approve of the so called 'upgrades' and sluggishness of Vista, I believe the OEMs will push it upon consumers. I can not see another OS as bad as Windows ME will ever see the light of day again...
