All downloads may go down for around an hour following this post. This will be due to remapping of the downloads database (or, in case your name is John Barden: Dartabase.) I have made the decision to place the downloads on a sub-domain, which will have bandwidth throttling rules. As it stands the whole site is subject to a very lenient rule-set for throttling at around 100GB.

Although 100 GB does (and is) sounds like a lot of bandwidth, the recent addition of eeeXubuntu mirrors requires this change. The mirrors used just under 8GB in just one day, if you extrapolate from that you reach a bandwidth usage of 240GB! Thus the site would only be up for around a third of each month.

This new setup will mean the main site will not be subject to any throttling (well I may place an unreachable target for safety reasons.) Thus, apart from another Dreamhost fat finger incident, the site should remain up.

The downloads domain will have a throttling level of 300GB, which should suffice. I will increase it if needed.
