Yes it is time for another -- although for once rather eventful -- site update. Numerous changes/happenings have occurred over the past week, so I thought it would be best to report them all at once. First, I have, finally, got round to doing some polls -- look on the right -- which should work for everyone, that includes unregistered users.

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, the site has eclipsed ten thousand (10,000) hits, which is quite some achievement for a site this young. With an increasing number of unique visitors and a resonable number of refreshes the sites hit counter has been rapidly rising. The next big milestone, for me anyway, will be 25,000 hits and at the rate they are coming in I would expect Tech Rant to eclipse that milestone within three months.

Third up, I have optimised the MySQL database -- a task I neglected over the past month and hopefully this shall make your browsing smoother/quicker.

Hopefully, I shall keep on ranting without long breaks in updates, unless I want to compete with The Most Neglected Site on the Web
