Some people are just deluded I guess; whilst you will not find me giving Vista glowing praise, I just can not believe the rubbish other blogs and sites are coming out with. Take thisNews Blog post, on CNET.

While Vista was originally touted by Microsoft as the operating system savior we've all been waiting for, it has turned out to be one of the biggest blunders in technology. With a host of issues that are inexcusable and features that are taken from the Mac OS X and Linux playbook, Microsoft has once again lost sight of what we really want.

As we're more than aware, Vista Ultimate comes at a premium. For an additional $160 over the Premium SKU price, Ultimate gives you a complete backup and restore option, BitLocker Drive encryption, the ever so popular Windows Fax & Scan, and the "Ultimate Extras." But what started with a promise of "Extras" by summer, quickly turned into an apology from Microsoft and the eventual release of DreamScene and Windows Hold 'Em (among others) today. And while each of the "Extras" runs just fine, Microsoft's "Extras" blunder is just another reason why the company must abandon Vista before it's too late.

The post reads like a Mac/Linux/Anyone but Microsoft fanboy has somehow managed to get a blog on CNET. It is simply absolute rubbish. Wait a second he can not even bring himself to blame Apple for their recent iPhone fiasco. This blog reeks of fanboy to me.

Microsoft will NOT abandon Vista the only time Microsoft have ever killed of a operating system was ME. Vista is turning out to be the fastest selling version of Windows ever, there is simply no chance of them abandoning Vista.

Let me just remind people why Windows ME was left in the dark. Windows ME was released in September 2000, whilst XP came out only 14 months later in November 2001. Now when you think the OEM's only had such a small time to sell computers with this operating system, it was easy enough to dump ME. ME was dead before it even came out.

Vista on the other hand has been around since November last year, so unless Microsoft surprise everybody by releasing a new operating system soon, you won't see Vista be abandoned. When you see that Windows 7 is being touted with a 2010 release date, you will also come to realise that Vista will be the dominant operating system by then.

Even if the tech savvy user avoids Vista, it will become the main operating system in the near future. This will simply be down to Joe Public buying computers with Vista pre-installed.
