UK copyright laws are outdated

I did not realise until today that, unlike in the States, in the UK we can not make a copy of a CD or DVD for our own personal usage. In fact, the majority of the United Kingdom's populous is breaking the law every single week when they rip music from a CD to their MP3 player.

You see the British copyright law which is being violated is over 300 years old, and is obviously not being policed. An institute called "The Institute for Public Policy Research", is trying to amend this giving us in the UK the same right to copy a CD for personal use as those in the US.

This law is rather stupid and needs to be amended, as even the British Phonographic Institute has already stated that it will not bring private copying cases against users if they make copies for private use.
