Cool and Quiet guide for overclockers

Good-bye Tiscali!

Cool and Quiet for the Enthusiast

Useful Software

In these hot summer months, well at least here they are hot, AMD's Cool and Quiet, C&Q, feature has some appeal to overclockers. It is a shame that it can not, without this nifty piece of software, operate if the clocks of the processor are changed.

Cystal CPUID is a rather nice CPUID alternative for overclockers, but it is offers more than just that. Crystal CPUID can manage the processors multiplier and voltage depending on its usage; however, unlike basic C&Q, the multiplier and voltage can be set by the user making it compatible with overclocked systems.

This tool has really helped me keep my system overclocked when I need it for games, whilst keeping it cool (and saving electricity too) when there is no need for the overclock.

Remember to install the AMD processor drivers, otherwise performance in games may be problematic.
