Whenever I turn my browser to DailyTech I never expect to find comical news, but today I did! Stock market site has reported that the usage of Apple products in general leads to a "Snob Effect" whereby users will consume more middleclass products.

Agree
I find that hilarious. I have a mac and I will agree with parts of this. Although I don't buy teeth whitener I do buy lots of shoes. I bought shoes before I got a mac though. I also buy organic foods cause I like to take care of my body. I would totally buy a hybrid if I could afford it, but can't. I have only been to Starbucks once, so that one is out. I wonder why those things would be more prevalent in mac users. Oh well. Cheers. |

Why isn't there more hilarious discussion here?
I can see this thread really taking on a life of its own. PC users vs. Mac users - like the Apple commercial, they are two different animals, no? And it is hilarious. I use a PC and I'm a snob about organic foods and starbucks. Not so much sneakers. And I have yellow teeth. |

That's strange b/c I own a PC and I definitely fit the bill of the typical Mac user. However, that maybe due to the fact that before I owned a PC I owned a Mac ;) Saku http://www.lovehinagallery.com |

It's funny that the article mentioned that mac users, on average, buy 5 new pairs of sneakers a year. Recently there was an article on the wire that quoted a study saying "if you want to find a great leader, look in his closet and see how many sneakers he has." The study found that great leaders generally like lots of athletic foot wear. So logically, lots of sneakers=great leader and mac user=lots of sneakers therefore mac user=great leader. |

Saku: Why would you go from having a mac to buying a PC? That's like eating Red Lobster one day and eating McDonalds the next. I buy 3 pairs of shoes per summer. |

Is this exactly what Apple tries to promote in its own commercials or advertisements? |

I have to agree Mac users do tend to be snobby. That could just be that they have more money though, as the average mac costs twice as much as a PC |

Lousy mac users and their snobbish attitude. I will live and die by my Vista machine. |
